RTTDC 3rd Edition materials

The 3rd edition of Rural Trauma Team Development Course ® RTTDC materials is now available. For the new edition, the American College of Surgeons (ACS)  offers a full-color, spiral-bound course text that includes worksheets so that RTTDC team members can leave a course with a list of their specific responsibilities during each step of a primary assessment.

COST: $50.00 per text, plus shipping charges, when purchased for RTTDCs or for RTTDC faculty.

The other course materials are contained on digital video disk (DVD), which is available to Level I, II and III trauma centers that present RTTDC at no charge.

CME: The ACS provides 8.25 AMA-PRA category 1 Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits for the RTTDC 3rd Edition.  The ANCC (American Nurses Credentialing Center) will recognize these credits, so nurses who complete  RTTDC will receive a certificate to claim CEUs from the ANCC. Prehospital providers will also get this certificate so they can claim CEs from a state EMS agency.

Another significant change from the 2nd Edition is that RTTDC now uses an online course management system. For those familiar with ATLS, this is a similar system and uses the same database as ATLS. 3rd Edition RTTDCs must be requested and documented through this system in order for CMEs to be provided.
