Private Wine and Cheese Pairing Class
SUNDAY, APRIL 23, 2006: TOUR A, 12:454:45 PM / $105 PER PERSON
For all who enjoy wine and cheese, this tour is perfect! You will learn how both fresh mozzarella and fresh ricotta are made. In a nondescript warehouse in Deep Ellum lies the Original Mozzarella Company, originally founded in 1982. The event begins with a behind-the-scenes tour of the cheese factory. After the tour, a discussion will focus on the traditional methods of making varieties of cheese, and a local wine connoisseur will explain the proper ways to pair them with your favorite wines. Learn common mistakes and misconceptions about pairing cheese with wine and simple rules that anyone can follow when entertaining guests or preparing an evening snack. Throughout the afternoon you'll sample wines and freshly made cheeses to discover your specific likes and dislikes in the pairing process. Be prepared for experimentation and enjoyment! You will also receive souvenirs of the day's learning experience.
After this tasty tour, you'll visit the original Neiman Marcus store in downtown Dallas. Browse all six floors of this upscale department store before returning to the Hilton Anatole (formerly the Wyndham Anatole).
NOTE: Participants on this tour must be age 21 years or older. Comfortable clothing and flat, waterproof shoes with nonslip soles are recommended for this walking tour.
