International Fellows, guest physicians, and meeting attendees: Please be aware that the process of obtaining a visa to attend meetings in the U.S. takes much longer than in the past. You are strongly urged to apply for a visa as early as possible, preferably at least 60 days before the start of the meeting. You may request a letter welcoming you to the meeting from the College by contacting the International Liaison Section by e-mail at postmaster@facs.org or by fax at 312-202-5001.

General Sessions

The registration fee includes admittance to all general sessions. In order to assist us with planning meeting room space, please take a moment to determine which general sessions you plan to attend and indicate those selections on the registration form.

The ACS policy regarding children is as follows:

  • Under 21–not permitted on the Social Program tour
  • Under 16–not permitted on exhibit floor or in scientific sessions
  • 16 and over–must have a badge to enter exhibit area or meeting rooms

This policy includes infants in strollers and arms.

Accreditation

The American College of Surgeons is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

CME Credit

The American College of Surgeons designates this educational activity for a maximum of 27.5 category 1 credits toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those credits that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

In the back of the Spring Meeting program book you will find your official attendance verification card for reporting CME credit. In addition, CME certificates may be obtained in the registration area of the hotel from 3:00 pm Sunday, April 23, 2006 through Wednesday, April 26, 2006.

Compact Discs

Selected general sessions will be recorded live and will be available for purchase on compact disc. Additional information will be available on site in Dallas, TX, at the National Audio Video booth near the registration area.
