2007 Surgical Spring Week

Program Overview

The American College of Surgeons invites you to attend its 35th Annual Spring Meeting, which will be held April 22-25, in Las Vegas, NV at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel. This year the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) will kick off Surgical Spring Week with their annual conference followed by the ACS Spring Meeting.  As part of the 2007 Surgical Spring Week, ACS with SAGES will sponsor a two very important sessions on Sunday, April 22, 2007.

To emphasize its strong commitment to and support of general surgery, the American College of Surgeons devotes its annual Spring Meeting to the interests and needs of the practicing general surgeon.  The objective of the Spring Meeting is to provide practicing surgeons with information so that participants can apply the knowledge acquired to enhance the care of their surgical patients.

Accreditation

The American College of Surgeons is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™

The American College of Surgeons designates this educational activity for a maximum of  23 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.  Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Excelsior Surgical Society/Edward D. Churchill Lecture

Special sessions for surgical residents include:

Clinical Abstract Presentations by Residents
Surgical investigators in-training will present summaries of hypothesis-testing research, completed or in progress, not previously presented or published.

Spectacular Cases by Residents
Unusual cases selected from those submitted by ACS Resident members will be presented in clinicopathologic conference style to a panel of experts. 

Surgical Jeopardy
Teams of surgical residents from across the country will compete with one another to test their surgical knowledge.

The 2007 Spring Meeting will be held at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel located 10 minutes away from the McCarren International Airport.  In addition to being a premier meeting facility, the hotel features spacious guestrooms with sumptuous fabrics, custom European furniture and luxurious marble bathrooms.  At the end of the day, relax in the Paris Las Vegas’ 2-acre rooftop pool, or pamper yourself in the 26,000 square-foot Spa by Mandara.  And what would a trip to Paris be without experiencing a true culinary excursion in one of the hotel’s 10 restaurants.  Guest room reservations can be made by calling the Paris Las Vegas directly at 888-266-5687.
