American College of Surgeons to Discuss New Approaches
to Patient Safety in the Operating Room
WASHINGTON DC: What do airline pilots and surgeons have in common? Find out at a press briefing on new approaches to patient safety in the operating room presented by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) on Wednesday, January 18, 2006. Surgeons will explain how they have been working with safety experts in the aviation industry to develop and adapt aviation teamwork strategies to enhance patient safety and prevent accidents in the operating room. Medical/health reporters and general interest reporters with an interest in safety issues are encouraged to attend this session.
