Medical Student Membership
Medical students in accredited medical schools in the United States, Canada, and international countries (allopathic and osteopathic) are eligible to apply for Medical Student Membership. The application fee is $20.00 and is not refundable. Annual dues will not be required to continue the membership but it will expire upon graduation from medical school. The surgery department's Chair must sign the application or submit an accompanying letter verifying the student's current status.
Benefits include:
- On-line access to the Journal of the American College of Surgeons (JACS), a weekly electronic newsletter NewsScope;
- Attendance at the Clinical Congress and the Spring Meeting without a registration fee;
- Eligibility for enrollment in the College-sponsored insurance programs (health, life, auto, disability, loan payment);
- BAC Credit Card;
- Access to "Members Only" side of ACS web site;
- Representation on selected ACS Committees (Subcommittee on Medical Student Education and Committee on Informatics);
- Use of ACS travel agency
