In response to the growing demand for a convenient format to allow self-assessment of surgical knowledge on a continuous basis, the American College of Surgeons Division of Education developed the SESAP™ Sampler. Continuing the SESAP tradition of excellence, SESAP Sampler features content that was developed with the same rigorous, peer review process used for SESAP. The Web-based self-assessment resource is offered as an annual subscription consisting of 12 monthly online modules. Each module presents five new, previously unpublished questions along with discussions and cited references on a given topic. The topics mirror the American Board of Surgery’s content outline for the recertification examination.

SESAP Sampler is designed to enhance surgical decision-making skills and patient care through continuous, periodic self-assessment. An annual subscription allows the opportunity to earn a maximum of 6 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ that may be helpful in fulfilling Part 2 of the Maintenance of Certification requirements of the American Board of Surgery.
