Course Objectives And Description
The American College of Surgeons Comprehensive General Surgery Review Course, developed by the ACS Division of Education, provides a four-day intensive review of the essential content areas in general surgery. Faculty will use a combination of didactic and case-based formats to create an efficient review, while enhancing understanding and retention. Self assessment materials, such as pre- and posttests, also will be used. In addition, following the course, monthly review modules will be provided electronically and will address content beyond what provided in the course, provide any needed updates, help keep participants engaged in learning, and offer a forum for continued interaction with faculty. The course will help fulfill the requirements for Maintenance of Certification, Part 2, and should be helpful in preparing for recertification examinations.
