Accreditation Process
Education Institutes
There are a number of operational steps that each Education Institute will need to meet in order to seek accreditation. The steps are described below:
- Determine the interest of the Institute to become an ACS Accredited Education Institute.
- Obtain a letter of commitment from one of the following leadership positions, the CEO, Dean, Provost, or other institutional agent that indicates there is an institutional commitment to the ACS Education Institute accreditation process.
- Contact the ACS Division of Education, which manages the accreditation program, for the necessary materials and documents to be completed.
- Complete the application to become either a Level I Comprehensive Education Institute (CEI) or Level II Basic Education Institute (BEI).
- Submit an application and the necessary fees in order to have the Education Institute surveyed by a designated date. The survey will then allow the Education Institute to be reviewed by the Committee at a designated meeting.
- The ACS Division of Education staff will review materials for completeness, and in the event there is missing information, the Education Institute will be notified and given a short period of time to correct the omission and resubmit the information. If materials are not resubmitted by the designated time or date the application will be placed into an inactive status.
