Program Highlights

Programs at the Clinical Congress are developed to advance surgeons’ ongoing efforts to achieve the best clinical outcomes for their patients. This year’s Congress will feature 116 panel sessions, video-based education selections, and hundreds of scientific exhibits and technical exhibits from a wide variety of companies. The Surgical Forum, a three-day presentation featuring research-in-progress reports, is another highlight of the meeting. This year’s Congress promises to be an outstanding event, with timely programs and sessions on topics such as:

  • Surgical Workforce Crisis and the IMG Solution: Can We Balance National Interest and Global Responsibility?
  • Ethical Considerations and the Process of Surgical Innovation
  • Health Policy 2009: How Far Do You Go with a Scope?
  • Minimizing risk in Bedside Surgical Procedures
  • Preparing for International Humanitarian Outreach
  • Update on Management of the War-Wounded
  • The Drive to Teach Residents: An Unintended Casualty of the 80-hour workweek?

The preliminary Clinical Congress program can now be viewed on the American College of Surgeons Web site. We will continue to post updated program information online throughout September until the meeting begins.
