About the Clinical Congress

The American College of Surgeons will present its 90th Clinical Congress, October 10-14, 2004 at the Morial Convention Center, 900 Convention Center Boulevard, New Orleans, LA. The event will feature 41 postgraduate courses, more than 300 hours of general and specialty sessions, and hundreds of scientific exhibits and technical exhibits from a wide variety of companies. The Surgical Forum, a three-day presentation featuring 247 research-in-progress reports, is another highlight of the meeting. This year's Congress promises to be an outstanding event, with timely programs and sessions on topics such as: the application of robotic surgery in all surgical specialties; advances in the recognition and treatment of sepsis and shock; specialty coverage in trauma centers: can trauma centers survive?; and gene silencing: a new frontier for surgical scientists and its clinical implications. The preliminary Clinical Congress program can now be searched online through the American College of Surgeons Web site. We will continue to post updated program information online throughout the summer and fall until the meeting begins.
