Challenge to Chapter
William Matory, MD, FACS, the 2000 LaSalle D. Leffall, jr. Award recipient challenged the chapter to complete a feasibility study to develop a comprehensive General Surgery Review Course for the metropolitan Washington area. He donated his award back to the Council to establish a regional postgraduate feasibility group to access the need and feasibility of this course. Doctors Stephen Evans, Mary Maniscalco-Theberge, Harry Marshall, and Craig Colliver, are developing an evaluation tool that will be forwarded to area program directors to determine their interest and support.
