College and NCI Launch Clinical Tials Program
The American College of Surgeons recently announced that the American College of
Surgeons Oncology Group (ACOS-OG). has received a $3.7 million per annum
grant from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) of the National Institutes of
Health (NIH) to conduct multicenter cooperative group trials in surgical
oncology.
ACOS-OG, which officially began its activities on May 15, 1998, is the first new
cooperative group sponsored by the NCI in 18 years and the only one to focus on
