2003 Zehner
Nominations Are
Being Accepted

The Metropolitan Washington Chapter currently is accepting nominations for the 2003 Harry B. Zehner, Jr., Memorial Traveling Fetiowship. The chapter presents this award annually to recognize the achievements of an outstanding surgical resident from one of the local training programs. The recipient is awarded a travel stipend that he or she must use to visit another surgical facility or training program to leam about new concepts in a surgical field.

Nominees for the award must be members of the College's Candidate Group and must be in at least the third postgraduate year of training. Nominees also must submit an application form signed by the program director, along with a letter of recommendation from the program director. The deadline for nominations is Friday, December 20, 2002.

As usual, the 2003 award will be presented during the chapter's annual business breakfast at All Surgeons Day. This year's annual meeting will take place on March 8, 2003, at the Bethesda Marriott Hotel.

The chapter has presented this award to many excellent surgical residents in the past, and we look forward to maintaining this tradition in 2003. If you would like to receive an application, please call Kay Sykes at 202/3372701.
