FALL 2001 NEWSLETTER

Surgical Residents' Competitive Forum

by LTC Craig Shriver, MD, FACS

The Washington Chapter invites surgical residents in the Washington metropolitan area to submit papers to its annual scientific essay competition. Award-winning papers will be presented at the annual meeting of the All Surgeons Day on February 23, 2002. Residents in all surgical programs and surgical specialties are encouraged to participate.

Papers will be judged, with preference given to those presenting investigative results of clinical or scientific significance.

Monetary prizes will be awarded to the top three resident finalists, with papers judged accordingly by the chapter's Forum Judges. With the author's consent papers may be made available for publication in The American Surgeon.

Deadline for paper submissions is December 7, 2001. All interested residents should contact Kay Sykes at (202)337-2701.
