Instructions for Downloading, Installing and Running GenEDITS Plus
Using GenEDITS Plus to Edit Your NCDB Data (1550K PDF)
Download GenEDITS Plus Software
This links to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) web site. On the CDC Downloads site, click on the highlighted link to GenEDITS Plus, and download that set-up file to your Desktop. Double-click on the icon it creates to install GenEDITS Plus (sometimes called GEP). Because GEP establishes the folder structure you will use to save the NCDB Metafile and Configuration file downloads, it is recommended that it be installed first. Then come back to this site for the NCDB files below.

The free Registry Plus Online Help application describes all standard edits with links to the item definitions they use and explanations for interpreting them. It has full copies of the FORDS, Collaborative Staging, Multiple Primary and Histology Coding manuals as well as the NAACCR Data Dictionary, the SEER Coding Manual, and the introduction and histology sections of ICD-O-3. NCDB thanks NPCR for its production of this useful tool.
To Install: Registry Plus Online Help is available at http://www.cdc.gov/cancer/npcr. Select “Registry Plus” under Tools; select “Online Help” under Registry Plus Components; then select “Technical Information and Installation”. Follow the instructions to download and install or upgrade the application on your computer. NCDB recommends using the defaults suggested in the installation script.
