National Cancer Database (NCDB)
CLINICAL INFOMATION BIBLIOGRAPHY

The Clinical Information Division of the Commission on Cancer maintains the National Cancer Data Base (NCDB) and performs other special studies. The NCDB is a joint project of the Commission on Cancer (COC) of the American College of Surgeons and the American Cancer Society (ACS). The goal of the NCDB is to present an annual summary of patient care for cases of cancer diagnosed and treated at hospitals throughout the country. Evaluations would then enable clinicians to appraise trends in specific treatments and survival in relation to primary site and histologic types of malignancy; and further, to permit individual contributing hospitals to compare their results with state, regional, and national figures. Ad hoc studies are also performed where more detailed data collection is warranted. In addition to the NCDB, this bibliography includes Patient Care Evaluation (PCE) and other special studies which are designated with (*).

Reprints of articles marked with a (!) are directly available from the NCDB. To request a reprint, please contact Nancy Etzold at netzold@facs.org. When making your request, please be sure to copy the full bibliographic information for article(s) into the e-mail dialog box. If an article is not indicated as an available reprint, the NCDB may still be able to assist you in obtaining it.
