Cancer Program Approval
APPROVALS PROGRAM STATISTICS

There are currently more than 1,400 Commission on Cancer-approved cancer programs in the United States. Programs are in place in 49 of the 50 states. Two listings of CoC-approved cancer programs currently exist - one on the Cancer Programs page of the American College of Surgeons Web site and the other on the American Cancer Society Web site under the Patients, Family, and Friends section of their home page at www.cancer.org.

The American College of Surgeons listing includes the name, address, phone number, Web site, and cancer program category. The American Cancer Society listing includes the same information as previously plus more detailed information describing the resources and services of the cancer program, and if available, data on the type of cancer patients treated by the facility. A map feature is also included which provides directions to the facility.
