2012 Leadership Conference and ACS Advocacy Summit

2012 Advocacy Summit

The 2012 Leadership Conference and First Annual Advocacy Summit will take place Sunday, March 25-27, 2012 at the J.W. Marriott in Washington, DC.

The theme for the 2012 Leadership Conference is Surgical Leadership for Quality and Safety, which will be held March 25-26.  Separate, concurrent sessions are planned for Young Surgeons, Residents, Chapter Leaders, and Chapter Executives (Administrators and Executive Directors).  Each Chapter should appoint and send one-two Young Fellows and Residents, and their Chapter Officers and Managers.  The Leadership Conference immediately precedes the College’s Advocacy Summit.

March 26-27, 2012 will mark the first American College of Surgeons’ Advocacy Summit. The Summit will convene hundreds of College members from across the country and across specialties to attend advocacy training and meet with their federal legislators to educate and influence them on the issues impacting ACS members, including liability reform, quality improvement, trauma, workforce, and many others. Attendees should note that the Capitol Hill visits are a critical component of the Summit, and should plan their travel arrangements accordingly.
