ACS joins 115 organizations in opposing H.R. 2140

On June 30, 2011, the College and 115 other national, state, and specialty organizations sent a letter to Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-OH) and House Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) in opposition to H.R. 2140, the “Medicare Hearing Healthcare Enhancement Act of 2011.” H.R. 2140 would inappropriately provide audiologists with unlimited direct access to Medicare patients without a physician referral.

ACS supports the “Healthcare Truth and Transparency Act of 2011”

On March 15, 2011, the College and 66 other national, state, and specialty organizations sent a letter to Rep. John Sullivan (R-OK) and Rep. David Scott (D-GA) in appreciation for introducing the “Healthcare Truth and Transparency Act of 2011” (H.R. 451). H.R. 451 is an important step toward ensuring that patients have accurate information regarding the education, training, and qualifications of the individuals providing their healthcare services.
