CMS Pay-for-Reporting
Physician Quality Reporting Initiative (PQRI)

Please note that this section of the American College of Surgeons Web site is continually updated as additional information on the PQRI becomes available. Please check back periodically for updates.

Medicare’s voluntary reporting program, the Physician Quality Reporting Initiative (PQRI), is the first CMS national program to link the reporting of quality data to physician payment. The first reporting period of the PQRI will end on December 31, 2007. The 2008 reporting period will begin on January 1 and conclude on December 31, 2008.  Additional information is provided in the following links to help surgeons learn more about the program.
