CHAPTER SHOWCASE

Please join us on Tuesday, October 13, for our annual Chapter Showcase, the education program that focuses on new programs and activities being lead by chapters of the American College of Surgeons (ACS). In addition, we will have reports on two issues that are a significant concern to many of the College’s chapters—how to get Young Surgeons involved and how new regulations governing corporate sponsorship income may affect chapters’ education missions.

The Ohio Chapter will report on how its recent collaborative efforts has increased attendance at and interest in the Chapter’s annual meeting.

Wanda Johnson, Executive Director, Tennessee Chapter
The Tennessee Chapter is leading efforts, through collaboration, to introduce and expand the use of ACS NSQIP in hospitals across the Volunteer State. In addition, this chapter’s collaborative efforts in trauma and cancer have enhanced its programs and activities in these areas as well.

Dr. Savarise will detail how this new group was formed, and how the new Young Fellows Association will provide opportunities for involvement in the College and its chapters.
