Knowing that the involvement of Young Surgeons and Residents would be critically important to the revitalization of the South Texas Chapter, the Chapter leaders developed new programs and activities for this special component of the surgical profession. In this session, we will review how the South Texas Chapter is meeting this challenge and learn how the game, JEOPARDY, is helping the Chapter with this challenge.

For more than a few years, the Connecticut Chapter has utilized the College’s Web site programs for Chapters, which is available through Telusys, an Internet Service Provider. In this session, Christopher Tasik will demonstrate the Connecticut Chapter’s Web site and show how the programs and software are used for membership communications, dues billing, meeting registration, and more. (NOTE: If your Chapter has a Telusys website, this session is a “MUST ATTEND.”)

No longer can Chapters rely on dues income to finance annual expenses. Exhibitor income can help but should not be the only source of non-dues revenues that Chapters cultivate. In this session, Jim Dowden will describe some new sources of non-dues revenues that have been successful for the Southern California Chapter, and he will also share his perspectives on how the demographics of his Chapter contribute to its success.
