2006 Clinical Congress Special Sessions for Chapter Leaders and Chapter Administrators

Tuesday, October 10 1:00—4:30 PM

Hyatt Regency McCormick Place—Room CC11A & B (Lobby Level)

Join us for an informal orientation session for Chapter Leaders—both new and experienced Chapter Leaders are encouraged to attend. For the second portion of the session, three Chapters will report on their special activities and programs. Past attendees have given high marks to this special Chapter session. Come and see how to organize your Chapter for success and learn how three Chapters have become a visible voice of surgery in their areas.

I. ORIENTATION for CHAPTER OFFICERS 1:00—2:30

This session is intended to serve as an “orientation” for new Chapter Officers, Chapter Leaders, and Chapter Administrators. Legal perspectives on Chapter issues will be presented, including finances and internal controls, and Chapters’ financial contributions to advocacy-related coalitions. Also, the importance of strategic planning and having a leadership succession plan also will be reviewed. Experienced Chapter Leaders are encouraged to attend.
